I am a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor Registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I consider myself fortunate to have had the privilege of working alongside many courageous individuals on their healing journeys. I am currently in private practice and have experience working within health authorities, not-for-profit agencies, and private clinics. I specialize in trauma treatment and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also use EMDR help individuals manage other issues including anxiety, pain, and attachment-based difficulties. I completed my MA in Counselling Psychology at Adler University in Vancouver, BC and completed my BSc.H. at Cape Breton University. My graduate research focused on post-traumatic growth in bereaved informal caregivers and my undergraduate research focused on meaning making for bereaved informal caregivers.
